Since 28 June 2025, most online shops that sell to consumers in the EU must be accessible to people with disabilities. In Germany the law is called the BFSG. In practice that means readable contrast, keyboard navigation, labelled forms and images with descriptions.
Micro-businesses (fewer than 10 staff and no more than €2 million turnover) are exempt, but an accessible store is easier for everyone to use. We build every store to WCAG 2.2 AA and tell you honestly where your current store stands. This is general information, not legal advice.
